R.I.P. Frank Peppiatt

We are sad to announce that we have just been informed of Hee Haw creator Frank Peppiatt’s death this past week.  He was 85 years old.

After debuting on CBS in 1969, Hee Haw immediately topped the national ratings and became the longest-running and most popular weekly country music TV series in history.  It’s always been a favorite of ours down here at the Hard Scuffle Studios, because it exposed a whole new audience to the magic country music.

Peppiatt’s legacy will last forever due to Hee Haw DVD’s still flying off the shelves.  Not only that, but Peppiatt’s memoir titled When Variety Was King: Memoir of a TV Pioneer Featuring Jackie Gleason, Sonny and Cher, Hee Haw and More is  scheduled to be published in April 2013.  Look for it at your local bookstore!

Thanks for all the entertainment, Frank.
